Vicki Lee Fechner was born to Clarence and Dorothy Fechner in Wenatchee, WA on August 13, 1948 and passed away on March 10, 2024. She graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1966 and went on to Central Washington University for a degree in Education. Vicki taught Driver's Ed, English as a Second Language and Freshman/Sophomore English and retired from teaching in 2004.Vicki shared her home with her grandparents, Pete and Georgia Dyer until their passing and then with her mother Dorothy and spouse, Doug Smalley, as well as their adopted and foster children. Vicki was a foster parent for 25 years. The last several years, she shared her home with her older sister, Cathy. Vicki enjoyed playing the violin in churches, the Wenatchee Theater and was a member of the Wenatchee Valley Symphony Orchestra for 39 years and participated in Chelan Bach Fest for 25 years.
She attended Breath of Life Church until the Covid lockdown after which she continued to be an extension of the church doing community outreach with pastors Jeremy Gange and Kevin Harvey.
Vicki is survived by her sisters, Cathy Theiss, Christi Smarro and Patricia Johnson and their spouses, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 6, 2024 @1PM at Breath of Life Church at 65 23rd St NE, East Wenatchee. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St Jude's.
